Any parent will tell you it’s one thing to come after me. It’s entirely different when you start involving my family. And like most of us, that’s a line Donald Trump just can’t abide being crossed.
That became clear on Wednesday when the 45th president took to social media to blast New York Judge Arthur Engoron, who is proceeding over the alleged fraud RICO case against Trump.
Apparently, going after Trump and his business associates isn’t enough. And so, the Trump children are now being called to the stand.
According to NBC News, New York Attorney General Letitia James called Donald Trump Jr to testify on Wednesday, Eric Trump on Thursday, and even Ivanka Trump, who took the stand Friday. While Ivanka is no longer a defendant in the case, James still claims she is “under the control of the Trump Organization.”
Naturally, Trump is none too thrilled about his children being called to take the stand, either to defend him or themselves.
As he told Engoron in his Truth Social post, “Leave my children alone, Engoron. You are a disgrace to the legal profession!”
Now, I’m sure neither Trump nor any of you are all that surprised that the Trump children have been wrangled into this mess of a case. After all, the political left and powers that be have been trying to take Trump down by any means necessary for nearly a decade now.
It only makes sense that, eventually, they would take aim at the rest of the family.
Hell, in June, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office even went after Melania Trump, asking for access to the former first lady’s White House communications.
Of course, like everything else, none of these family ties have led to much of anything more for James and her prosecution to work with.
If only the same could be said for Democratic President Joe Biden…
