The congressional hearing with Twitter Files journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger back on March 9th was pure fire. The two journalists shared explosive revelations with the House Subcommittee on Weaponization of Government about how the entire federal government was participating in censoring American citizens on social media.

And how’s this for creepy and terrifying? We now know that an IRS agent showed up at Taibbi’s home unannounced on the same day that he testified.

Taibbi has told Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the committee’s chairman, that the IRS agent showed up out of the blue before he was supposed to testify before the committee. The IRS didn’t send him a letter or place a phone call to his accountant. The most hated and feared of all government agencies just showed up at his house!

Rep. Jordan sent a letter on Monday to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to demand answers. The agent left a note at Taibbi’s house demanding that he call the IRS four days later. When Taibbi called, he was told that his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had been rejected over concerns of identity theft.

Does that make any sense? It’s been five years since 2018, and Taibbi notes that the IRS accepted his tax returns with no problem when he filed his taxes electronically.

This was clearly an effort by the Biden administration to intimidate a journalist engaged in First Amendment-protected activities. Taibbi was there to testify about the government being weaponized against American citizens, and Biden sent the IRS after him.

During the committee hearing, Democrats even tried to get Taibbi to reveal his sources for his reporting on the Twitter Files. These people have no respect for the First Amendment at all!

For anyone who missed the hearing, here is one of the Democrats trying to intimidate Matt Taibbi into revealing his sources:
