Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) took full advantage of an opportunity to appear on “Face the Nation” and be interviewed by CBS anchor Margaret Brennan. Not using the opportunity to brag about changes in Ohio or challenges he would be presenting in Congress in the coming year, he instead took a cue from Brennan as she asked about the nation sending the wrong signal about national security by not charging Biden.
“This will be certainly devastating, continuing to be devastating, for the Department of Justice and to the Biden administration with their two-tier system of justice. Biden has been found to be a serial classified document hoarder. Over a 10-year period, he’s been taking classified documents — some of the most sensitive that threaten our national security — home without any protection, and certainly able for others to be able to access them.”
He then outlined the issues with Clinton’s email server and the record of her and Biden both taking home classified documents while Obama was in the White House. Taken home and stored for years, the documents weren’t kept under proper provisions or even cataloged correctly. Compared with Trump, who took home documents he unclassified and kept them as requested by national security, there is a huge difference.
Brennan tried using this opportunity to turn the tables. Acting like a child who suddenly discovered the Ace that dropped on the poker table suddenly gave them two pairs, she declared Trump had been charged under the Espionage Act. In her mind, since he allegedly violated it by not handing over documents, she believed he refused to hand anything over and was such a criminal for these allegations.
At this point, Turner set the hook, “As you know, Margaret, Biden had these documents for over 10 years. You can’t hoard documents in your home for a decade-long period, concealing them, taking them home as a senator, vice president, and then suddenly say, ‘Hey, two weeks while I was president, I cooperated and, therefore, it doesn’t count that I spent 10 years as a serial classified document hoarder.”
This line made her end the interview immediately. Shamed by being so underprepared, her softball of a scenario that she gave Turner. Frankly, her ability to try and claim that Trump committed more egregious crimes than Biden, especially when Biden’s are along a much longer timeline, is insane.
Going after Trump over boxes of documents is a serious charge. As the only former President to face criminal charges, this case will be a litmus test for American politics for years to come. As it stands, many are pushing to have Biden become the first sitting President to be facing charges for crimes he’s committed as President and Vice President. Truth be told, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
To put out there the same argument liberals give about the government being in your business, if Biden didn’t do something wrong, then what does he have to hide? Looking at everything that has emerged from Hunter’s “lost” laptop, it certainly seems as if both of them and the rest of the Biden crew were happy to sell the office.
While no singular source has ever been accused of buying the office and Biden being the puppet, it has become increasingly apparent that people could pay for a seat at the table. Providing a substantial amount of cash and often a percentage of a company for an indulgence of access, if you will.
Just seeing Turner flambe her in her own words on national TV is amazing. To do it on such a blowhard liberal network like CBS and such a storied and corrupt show like “Face the Nation” over the corruption of President Biden is just icing on the cake. Hopefully, there is a lot more of this to come before 2024.
