Imagine that you’re Joe Biden for a moment, and you’ve just spent the last two years degrading every American’s standard of living through terrible and short-sighted policies. People are going broke. People still can’t find baby formula in a lot of places. The economy is contracting more rapidly than at any other time in history. What would you do to start fixing the horrible problems you caused? We know what Joe Biden’s solution is because he proposed it last week. Gazillions of dollars in tax hikes!
Biden released his budget proposal in Philadelphia on Thursday, and it is astonishing, to say the least. It calls for tax hikes on everyone, even though it’s not being couched that way. One of the most hair-brained schemes in the proposal is the idea to raise the Medicare tax from 3.8% to 5% on “the rich.” And as usual, the same Joe Biden who owns several mansions and has never had a private-sector job in his life defines “the rich” as couples making more than $400,000 per year (or individuals making $200,000).
That’s Joe Biden’s plan to shore up Medicare. Democrats claim that this will “raise hundreds of billions of dollars” in order to “save Medicare.” That, of course, is crazy.
For one thing, if this were actually to pass Congress (which it won’t), wealthy Americans would do what they always do, because they are able to do so: They’d move out. Why bother with a government that hates you, when you can go live someplace sunny that’s not going to try to take everything away from you?
While increasing taxes to “save Medicare,” Biden also wants the top tax rate raised back up to almost 40%. If you make $200,000 a year, Joe Biden thinks the government is entitled to almost half of your earnings. He also wants to raise the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%, which is absolutely certain to kill millions of American jobs.
This isn’t a plan to fix anything. It’s a plan to finish off the working-class and middle-class Americans who Joe Biden so passionately hates.
Thanks to the fact that House Republicans are working with a former Trump administration official on their own budget proposal – and a good one at that – Joe Biden’s hair-brained schemes and massive tax hikes don’t stand the chance of a snowball in a hot place. The GOP is working with Russel Vougt, who was Donald Trump’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
This counterproposal includes a 45% cut on all foreign aid, which is always a popular place to start. And here’s a big shocker: the GOP budget will cut funding for the FBI’s counterintelligence programs by almost 50%. That’s fantastic news!
The FBI obviously has too much time on its hands these days anyway, since all they ever do is start BLM/Antifa riots, and target and harass parents at school board meetings and Christians who silently pray within 1,000 miles of an abortion clinic. Steep cuts to the FBI’s budget like this are the best possible gift that House Republicans could give to their voters.
The GOP plan would phase out the corrupt Section-8 housing program, which is a racket used to spend taxpayer money to pay the rent for illegal aliens. The budget outline also zeroes out the Defense Department’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and cuts billions of dollars for fake “refugees,” which Biden is also giving to illegal aliens instead of actual refugees.
Don’t forget about this moment. When Joe Biden hits the campaign trail so he can try to steal the 2024 election, he’s going to claim that he wanted to cut everyone’s taxes, but the evil Republicans stopped him. We shouldn’t let him get away with that.
