For most of us, hearing that President Joe Biden has been called out by his own might give us hope. However, that is not the case. Instead, it only proves just how far the Democratic Party has fallen – and how out of touch with real Americans it is.
As you know, Democrats everywhere, especially those in Washington, have been pushing for more “illegal” rights for a while now. According to them, our borders should be completely open, and immigrants from everywhere can stroll in without a second thought.
They’ve pretty much gotten their way so far, too. Or at least they did until the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in 2022. Now, Democrats are being hamstrung in those efforts. And they aren’t happy about it.
And so, they’ve written a letter to Biden and his Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to get their way.
As you can imagine, the letter is chocked full of less than sustainable ideas on how immigration in this country should work, including allowing illegals and asylum seekers to basically skip the usual processes to get in quicker and start making money to send home.
One classically bad idea is for the statutory 150 days an asylum seeker has to wait before applying for a work permit to be skipped. Of course, this would just mean that more American workers would have their pay cut.
Another request is that wait times for illegals asking for immigrant visas be reduced – again allowing migrants the ability to “legal” long before usual. They know that wait times are so long because of massive backlogs at immigration courts, right?
Even more astounding is the request that “deportable” illegals be allowed to contest their removal proceedings, being allowed to stay here despite the law…
A similar list of requests was brought before the House in May, but leading Republicans ensured it didn’t get the time of day.
So naturally, Dems are trying to skip going through Congress and get Biden to sign off on it…
We can only hope the administration sees the damage of doing so.
