One of the things that annoys the fake news media the most is the way that Donald Trump has continuously driven the news cycle ever since he walked down the golden escalator back in 2015. The man runs circles around the media every time that he tries. Friday’s unjust court ruling against Trump in New York was supposed to be the media’s big chance to do a victory lap. Instead, they were forced to cover Trump doing something completely unexpected as he unveiled a new tennis sneaker line, which sold out in minutes.
The former president showed up at Sneaker Con 2024 in Philadelphia to unveil the new line of ‘Never Surrender’ tennis shoes. The gold high-topped sneakers feature an American flag and a prominent ‘T’ on the side. Trump’s initial run of these limited-edition sneakers was 1,000 pairs, priced at $399 each. That’s not the sort of coverage that the liberal news media had expected to deliver over the weekend!
Whether you love Donald Trump or hate, there’s no denying that the man is a marketing genius. Who else gets slapped with an unconstitutional $355 million judgment in a victimless crime, only to turn around and rake in almost $400,000 in gross profit in just a few minutes?
Judge Arthur Engoron, who displayed gross anti-Trump bias before the trial even started, fined President Trump $355 million and banned him from doing business in the state of New York for three years on Friday. The ruling was absurd and punitive. New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose team prosecuted the “case” against the former President, never identified any victim of the supposed crime that Trump committed. Every bank loan was repaid with interest.
Trump was accused of inflating the value of his existing properties to secure loans for new real estate projects. Every other person throughout history who has ever bought or sold a home has engaged in the same process. It’s called “negotiating,” and it is how everyone in the industry conducts real estate.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) made an incredibly stupid statement Monday morning on a radio show. When a host on WABC 770AM asked Hochul why all the other business owners in New York should not flee the state after this ruling, she admitted that they only carried out this kangaroo court charade to get Donald Trump.
“I think that this is really an extraordinary, unusual circumstance that the law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers who are business people have nothing to worry about because they’re very different than Donald Trump and his behavior,” said Hochul.
No, they’re not. Donald Trump was one of the most law-abiding and rule-following New Yorkers in business and always has been. If he can be fined $355 million for conducting business exactly like every other developer in New York, why can’t anyone else? Because they’re not Trump, Hochul admitted.
There’s no doubt that Trump’s lawyers are already planning to use that statement to appeal the ruling, which will never survive in the appellate courts.
Trump is nonplussed by the whole thing, though. As the media was planning on party streamers and cake to celebrate the ruling over the weekend, Trump did another runaround with the surprise sneakers. The new shoes are still sold out on Trump’s website, and it hasn’t been announced if there will be a second run of the limited-edition high-tops. Amazingly, they can’t keep this man down despite all their efforts. Then again, that’s part of why Donald Trump infuriates them so much. He turns every perceived setback into yet another victory.
