A comment like this could have caused CNN’s Don Lemon to lose his job just a week ago, and now “The View’s” Whoopi Goldberg is being just as foul.
Goldberg used the exact same kind of insult in an attack against former Governor Nikki Haley on Monday.
The actress and talk show host played a lip of Nikki Haley’s campaign ad that was released along with her official announcement that she was seeking the Republican nomination for president. And Goldberg decided to blast the former ambassador to the United Nation’s claim that she would bring a “new generation” of leadership into Washington.
Whoopi basically echoed Don Lemon’s comment where he said Haley was “past her prime” at her age. Goldberg said, “You’re not a new generation! You’re 51! What are you talking about?!”
Then she added: “She may be younger .. [but] he’s saying the same BS.”
Nikki Haley said in her ad that it seemed like most American politicians were “past their prime,” and then she added, “It’s time for a new generation of leadership.”
Goldberg stopped the clip right there and interrupted, “You’re not a new generation. You’re 51! What are you talking about?”
Alyssa Farah Griffin, the lone GOP cohost, lashed back at Whoopi saying that compared to much of Washington, D.C., Haley was absolutely a different generation. At the age of 51, she is 29 years young than President Joe Biden and 38 years younger than retiring Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).
Goldberg doubled down saying, “But it’s not a new generation.” She maintained that Haley did not count as a new generation because she held on to Republican ideals.
Whoopie continued, “She may be younger than most of those people but her rhetoric is the same. She’s saying the same beats and I love the young kid, but you know what? The only way you’re going to get younger people to run, dude, is if you’re out there talking to people and saying, ‘Run!’”
Some critics have called for Don Lemon to be ousted from CNN, we can only hope that the same thing might happen to Whoopi.
