Despite the media’s attempts to confer sainthood on Kamala Harris, Democrat voters seem to be unmoved in their tremendous disappointment in her. Harris attended a star-studded fundraiser at the Colonial Theatre in Boston over the weekend. The effort was pitiful compared to what Joe Biden was pulling in from celebrities right before his brain melted in the debate with Trump in June. Harris, who is now the presumptive Democrat nominee for president, raised less money than JD Vance pulled in with normal, non-celebrity donors the day before.
During the final fundraiser of his campaign, Joe Biden managed to pull in $30 million. That was a star-studded event in Hollywood that was headlined by George Clooney. Biden’s brain froze at the end and Obama had to grab him by the arm and lead him off the stage like a dog. Still, $30 million is an impressive haul for a single evening.
The Kamala Harris fundraiser in Boston had celebrities like James Taylor and Yo Yo Ma there to entertain the guests. Tickets to attend the event cost as much as $12,000 per person. Because Kamala is just like one of the little people from the grassroots, right?
Any guesses as to how much money the donors pitched in for Kamala that night?
$1.5 million.
A measly, piddling $1.5 million.
We already know what you’re thinking. Maybe the low-energy fundraiser was a dud because it was headlined by the talentless and irrelevant James Taylor, who hasn’t written a hit song since the 1970s. He is a guy whose biggest hit songs can make elevator music fall asleep, after all. We’d just like to remind you that James Taylor was instrumental in getting Barack Obama elected in 2008.
Liberal white baby boomers ADORE James Taylor. They know all the words to “Fire and Rain,” which they played at their third wedding before their last divorce and then they had to settle for living with their cats. For some reason that will have to remain one of the great mysteries of the universe, James Taylor has major mojo with liberal white baby boomers. We shouldn’t discount his ability to get out the vote among this demographic, especially after he helped foist Obama upon the country.
The dud fundraiser wasn’t James Taylor’s fault. It was definitely Kamala’s. There’s just no enthusiasm for her, especially after she became the Democrats’ nominee without a single Democrat voter being able to cast a ballot for or against her.
Meanwhile, JD Vance raked in $2 million during a lunch with donors in Oklahoma City on Friday. There were no celebrities present. It was just ordinary Americans—wealthy ones, but not celebrities—who had lunch with JD Vance. The Republican vice presidential nominee outraised the Democrats’ presidential nominee.
Other fundraisers for Kamala aren’t going well, either. The cringe festival dubbed “White Dudes for Harris” only managed to pull in $4 million for her on Monday. It was a Zoom call headlined by Jeff Bridges, Sean Astin, Eric Swalwell, and Adam Schiff. They barely outraised the Boston fundraiser and Kamala wasn’t even there for the Zoom call!
Another way of putting it is that if Obama’s ActBlue hadn’t funneled more than $100 million in illegally laundered foreign donations (mostly from China) to her, the Kamala Harris campaign would already be broke. Raising just $5.5 million in the last few days isn’t enough to keep up with a presidential campaign’s cash burn rate at this time of year. What’s going to happen when September rolls around and there’s no one left who is willing to donate to Kamala?
