If you haven’t heard, former President Donald Trump has been found guilty of all 34 charges in the hush-money case against him in New York.
Naturally, the whole thing has been a sham from the get-go.
For starters, US District Judge Juan Merchan is about as biased as they come. Not only did he knowingly donate to the Biden campaign in 2020. And if that wasn’t bad enough, his daughter works for a Democratic political campaign company.
Those and other reasons, including the basis for the entire case, have infuriated more than a few Americans.
Unsurprisingly, Trump fans and MAGA supporters are up in arms over the whole ordeal. The question is, are they upset enough to riot, retaliate, and pose another “insurrection?”
The political left claims this is more than likely. And they use the January 6, 2021, capitol incursion as proof.
But reality seems to differ. As I write this, I am fuming at the idea that Trump, a man who has done more for Americans and who will do more for us should he be elected again, is being threatened with very real prison time instead of the Oval Office. However, I’m not about to organize a march on the courthouse, the Capitol, or the White House.
And it seems no one else really is, either – at least not yet. It’s pretty early to tell, at this point.
However, history tells us that it’s not typically the right side of the aisle who makes the most fuss about things. And if they do, we don’t go about breaking our laws and causing destruction.
That’s the liberal left’s thing.
Remember the summer of 2020, after the death of George Floyd? It wasn’t the MAGA movement that burned whole blocks to the ground and destroyed businesses in the name of police reform.
And today, it’s not the conservative side that’s blocking traffic and yelling obscenities at Jewish Americans in protest of Israel’s self-defense from Hamas.
So, will riots take place over Trump’s recent verdict? Technically, anything is possible. And I am sure more than a few of us are more than willing to do it. I’m mad enough that throwing a brick at Merchan’s car might feel good.
But it wouldn’t be the right thing to do. And at the end of the day, I’d like to believe that as productive members of society, we don’t have to be ruled by our emotions…
