With the first GOP debates behind us now, it’s hard not to see them as anything but competition for second place. And pictures taken from the audience only seem to prove that.
Unsurprisingly, Georgia GOP Representative and firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene was in attendance. But, according to a picture taken of her by another audience sitting close to her, her attention was not really on the candidates on the stage.

As you can see from reporter Glenn Greenwald’s X account, formerly known as Twitter, post and the picture he took from sitting behind MTG, the lawmaker was giving a good portion of her attention to none other than GOP frontrunner and just about the only candidate to not be in the debate’s attendance, Donald Trump.
“I’m sitting directly behind @RepMTG at the GOP presidential debate, and her attention appears to be at least… divided.”
Now, if you didn’t already know, Trump refused to participate in the debate, mainly because with such a resounding lead, far ahead of every other presidential candidate, it seemed like a waste of time. Of course, being the frontrunner also means that he needs to stay out in front of things.
And so, rather than “competing” in the debate, he chose to have a separate interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, which aired at the same time as the debate.
Needless to say, Trump’s interview basically stole the show, bringing in a whopping 230 million views so far. Clearly, MTG was part of that number.
And based on the comments, she was far from the only one, even in the debate’s attendance. As one person asked, “Can you blame her?”
No, indeed, we cannot.
You can watch the full Tucker interview below. See how it compares for yourself…
