Vice President Pence Explains Why Trump’s Address Was Suffice

With lawmakers, all of the Democrats and a few Republicans, there has been a cry of “lack of information” as to what was the imminent attack Solemani had planned on Americans. There is no mistaking the attacks were scheduled within days of the intelligence notifying the President and his administration.

Vice President Mike Pence went on NBC for an interview with Savannah Guthrie, the host of “TODAY.” With every operation, any military background person would know that the facts are all that need to be delivered. Vice President Pence explained the “intelligence was too sensitive to share.” Only the facts were needed, and everything in the classified briefing was sufficing.

Pence told Guthrie, “They could not share with Congress some of the most compelling intelligence behind the administration’s decision to kill Soleimani because doing so could compromise sources and methods.”

He added, “Those of us who were made aware of the intelligence in real time know President Trump made the right decision. Soleimani was planning imminent attacks against American forces.”

All of the Democrats and the two Republicans who rebuked the briefing should have been satisfied with the words, “imminent.” Apparently, they do not know the meaning of the word says, “It is going to happen.”

They understood what Soleimani was capable of doing and with intelligence saying it was “imminent,” it should have shut everyone up. The administration did not go into detail as to what the attacks were, but the time frame is all they needed to know.

Pence restated, “Everything they received, they received in real-time.” There is nothing more he should have to say to agree with the president. Pence also said Trump made the right decision with the intelligence they received, once again in “real-time.”

It is scary and sad at the same time when the lawmakers we have who cannot support the president for authorizing the drone attack, which took out Soleimani, cannot see President Trump saved lives and made the world a little bit of a safer place. We all understand the risk and danger of taking out a high powered terrorist.

There is no doubt it was a gamble of a mission knowing Iran will retaliate, which they did. Vice President Pence reassured the Americans watching and Guthrie that Iran is standing down, and there were no American or coalition casualties.

What we, the American people, get out of this disagreement is the thought that lawmakers who do not support the president in this decision supported the terrorist who we took out. We already know the Democrats support them, but it is disturbing the two well known Republican Senators would turn their back on not only the president but the people they serve in office.

Republican Senator Mike Lee had the harshest of words when he came out of the briefing. He said, “It was probably the worst briefing I’ve seen at least on a military issue in the nine years I’ve served in the United States Senate. I find this insulting and demeaning.” Republican Senator Rand Paul was also standing alongside Lee in agreement.

These same people rejected the briefing from the Trump administration. They rejected the actions taken to take out Soleimani, and they continued to criticize President Trump after he delivered his address to the nation Wednesday morning.

Trump stated in his speech as clear as day, “Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that badly wounded four service members and killed one American, and he orchestrated the violent assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In recent days, he was planning new attacks on American targets, but we stopped him. Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood. He should have been terminated long ago.”

Guthrie also asked the Vice President if the “imminent threat was over. He responded, “The threat of Soleimani’s leadership is gone. We are ready for any eventuality, including the ongoing threat from Iranian-backed militias. Trump does not seek regime change in Iran but a change in the behavior of its government.

Reports recently came in that Soleimani had plans to blow up the U.S. Embassy, not just attack it but blow it up. That is why he was in Baghdad at the time of his death. Democrats want to find a way so bad to get rid of President Trump, their hatred for him clouds their minds. They should leave well enough alone, but they continue to interrupt strategic action from America.
