AOC Hit with Brutal Fact Checks After Trying to School GOP on Economics

In a world not so long ago, the Democratic Party could get away with just about anything. Thanks to left-wing lovers in high and powerful seats of not only government but also media outlets and social media platforms, anything going on that be a reason to criticize the party could quite easily be swept under the rug or even completely ignored. I mean, election fraud, the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, Joe Biden’s age, etc., it was all just gone or not worth mentioning.

And the lies they could get away with, I mean, wow. It was truly amazing just how well the system seemed to work for them.

But that age is coming to an end now, thanks in large part to a new and Republican majority in the House of Representatives, as well as a new and not-so-liberal owner of one of the biggest social media platforms in the world.

Enter Elon Musk and his takeover of Twitter…

As you know, this means liberals aren’t given quite the free pass they used to. It used to be when they would say something on the platform, people would immediately jump to agree with it, whether it was right or wrong. After all, it’s not progressives actually got fact-checked on those sites, right?
But now, it’s a whole new world.

And one in which New York Representative and liberal firebrand Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has just been thoroughly roasted thanks to her own ineptitude.
It started on Monday when the GOP posted a tweet about the economy in our country today and how depressing it is. They noted in one simple line that “60% of workers report living paycheck-to-paycheck.”

Naturally, the tweet was meant as a criticism of Joe Biden, and his cronies have run our economy into the ground, particularly when compared with how former President Donald Trump had left things, even after a pandemic that nearly took our legs from us.

AOC, as she is most commonly referred to, must have thought that as an economics major, she knew more than the GOP and that her two cents on the matter would soundly put them in their place.

She retweeted the GOP’s post with a comment of her own. “And yet y’all still voted against raising the minimum wage.”

Now, to be sure, AOC must have a brain in between her ears, or at least she used to. After all, she did graduate cum laude from the prestigious Boston University with a double major in economics and international relations.

However, it seems that either she has forgotten most of the information she learned during her education. Or she has since been so corrupted by the political left that she is blatantly ignoring it.

In either case, it wasn’t very long at all before Musk’s newly implemented “Community Notes,” which allows users and experts to comment or leave additional notes that provide either more context or explanation, was used against her. Again, you would have never seen this happen under Twitter’s former owners.

But as one Community Notes source pointed out, from a Desert News piece, we can’t just assume that only minimum wage workers are the ones living paycheck to paycheck here. In fact, according to the report, even high earners are now being forced to do so thanks to Biden’s high inflation rates and the toll it is having on their savings.

Another Community Notes source noted too that, according to a Forbes explainer, inflation can and will completely negate wage growth. Even the most basic economics class should have covered this concept.

Basically, if you receive a raise, whether from a minimum wage change or your boss is just nice to you, but the inflation rate is either as high or higher, that raise doesn’t matter in the slightest. In fact, it’s actually considered a wage reduction.

But apparently, that’s one of those important facts that AOC forgot. Or she just doesn’t understand. Then again, perhaps she just forgot that her party is all controlling anymore and that she might actually get called out on her lies now.

In either case, she set herself up for quite a bit more embarrassment, didn’t she?
